I am interested in hearing about eCommerce shipping, distribution and logistics companies in Ireland.
I regularly get asked about this so I decided to draw up a list of the companies I have come across.
The Irish Exporters Co Operative was setup to allow Irish exporters/eCommerce companies negotiate a better rate with the logistic companies. It’s €30 to join which is worth it if you consider the rates you will get if you engage independently. Note : The Irish Exporters Co-op is a courier based service only and does not compete with the Postal service An Post where you may get a better rate.
To become a member of the Irish Exporters Co-Operative you must be a registered company and delivery must originate from Ireland.
For consumers there are a couple of mail forwarding services available to allow you save on shipping costs from the UK.
Ones I have come across are:
- The Parcel Motel
- Deliver me (An interesting use of the Magento Platform for this service/website)
