Pub Standards
I was recently made aware of the Pub Standards, an event organised by Eamon from EngineYard. The event is held every second Thursday of each month in the Bull and Castle beside Christ Church.
I went along and introduced myself – Eamon is a very approachable guy. While chatting to him a steady stream of attendees would lean in with outstretched arms – Eamon politely stamping each request. EngineYard sponsor the event and provide free food and drinks to those that attend – that’s hard to top.
Eamon reckons it’s money well spent compared to the cost of other corporate events and recruitment fees. I say fair play. He’s hired people he met there.
It was a very enjoyable evening where you can meet other developers and tech start ups. I would recommend anyone interested in the tech sector to pop by to the next one.
